Robertshaw Controls Company, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer
Products Safety Commission (CPSC), is instituting a voluntary recall
of products in the Robertshaw TS-11 series. The voluntary recall
applies to all TS-11 thermal safety control valves and certain TS-11
components that were produced between February 2003 and August 2004
-- about 123,544 TS-11 Thermal Safety Control Valves and about 37,350
magnet heads.
These products can be identified by date codes 0306 through and
including 0432. These valves are used in commercial cooking equipment,
including ranges, griddles, fryers, and warming trays.

Under certain circumstances, if the pilot light in products that use
the valve goes out, the valves could stick in an open position, permitting
gas to continue to flow. This could result in a gas explosion and fire, which could potentially result in severe personal injury and/or
property damage. |

As with any gas appliance, if you smell gas near the appliance or in the building, immediately
leave the area and call your gas company or a certified gas technician to
investigate the cause. If you do not smell gas, check the pilot lights on your
gas appliances. If any pilot lights are out, do not attempt to
relight. Have the appliance examined by a qualified technician. If the pilot is functioning
normally (or if the gas supply to the appliance is shut off), you will need to determine
if your gas appliance has a valve that is being recalled.
